Remember way back when you were a kid and didn't like taking showers? But for some reason, no matter how much dirt and sweat covered your body, you had a real objection to your parents telling you that you needed to take a shower. This was somehow an affront to your personal freedom, and you weren't going to be bossed around. But then at some point in a kid's life they begin to realize that, yes, cleaning yourself is necessary. Maybe it's when they realize no one ever wants to be around them because they smell so foul and look like some woodland creature; or maybe it's when they begin to notice that they are always itchy and uncomfortable, so much so that it's hard to get anything done; or maybe it's when they watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for the first time and just know that they don't want to go around looking like Pig-Pen for the rest of their lives. Regardless, at some point children learn that they have to bathe on a regular basis.Well, it seems that a little strain of this rebellious attitude against bathing carries over into our adulthood and manifests itself in another all too common form of hygienic malpracticeonly this time it involves cars. Believe it or not, cars need to be regularly cleaned just like we do. Specifically, with an oil change. Every time you get an oil change, you're doing your car a great service by cleaning out all the various accumulation that has been building up in your car since its last clean. On the other hand, every time you try to get away with skipping an oil change, you're essentially forcing your car to go without a much-needed shower. And when you choose not to get an oil change, you're not just depriving your engine of its aesthetic appeal; you're actually putting the health and longevity of your car on the line. Your vehicle needs this service in order to maintain performance, efficiency, and overall livelihood. You'll quickly see the negative effects of forgoing a clean: lower gas mileage, more trips to the gas station, strange rumbles from your enginein some severe cases your car can even explode! In short, nothing good will come of it. The best thing you can do is avoid having your car become the Pig-Pen of the neighborhood and get a regular oil change.
